I have to say that I wasn’t expecting much from the anime, Sacred Seven. It exceeded my expectations. Sacred Seven is a show about Arma Tadonji, who is expected to beat the Darkstones. The Darkstones are enemies that have been granted powers by meteors. In the first episode, Arma finds out that he is a Darkstone, but with the power of a stone that Ruri Aiba has, he gains the power to fight the Darkstones. Thus, he begins his battles against the Darkstones, and not only that, but he joins a club at school to collect rocks.
The main thing that sold me was the main character Arma Tadonji. I fell for him in a way. Or rather it would be better to say that I felt for him. He is a misunderstood, quiet high school boy who lives by himself. Because of being a Darkstone, he becomes an outcast in the school. He was given the classification of a delinquent because of what happened between a few students and him.
The idea between the stones, or amulets, and the Darkstones is an interesting concept. As long as the Darkstones are not connected with a special blue stone, they will not be aware of anything and will attack whatever is in their way. The blue stones act as a focusing stone. It allows them to be aware of what is going on and to have a more hero-ish outfit. It’s great that way.
I also liked that there was action, and good action, in the first two episodes. They are able to just get into the series without having to have extra back story. Sometimes shows need the excess story, but Sacred Seven is not one of those.
The only character that disturbs me is Makoto Kagami, but as long as he diverts from a Sebastian-type character, the butler from Kuroshitsuji/Black Butler, I can maybe start to like him.Whether it is for the show or just to watch Arma's story as a character, I will stay tuned to Sacred Seven.
